Job SummaryThe Behavior Therapist (BT) Intern is an Internship position.
The BT Intern provides individualized, earlyintervention services directly to clients and other client related activities.

Essential FunctionsProvides direct therapy to clients following client program plans ensuring goals and objectives are being metDocuments therapy services accurately and timely (i.
e.
data collection, reporting parent and Partners In Excellence communications and client information)Works under supervision to provide direct therapyCompletes the required technical training and participates in ongoing training opportunitiesRedirects, intervenes, observes, and monitors client behaviorsCommunicates effectively with all staff membersMakes sound decisions and uses good judgment when dealing with clients, parents, and coworkersDemonstrates dependability and consistency in therapy and other job related activitiesCommunicates daily progress and client concerns to the appropriate staff membersOrganizes and cleans clients space and equipmentAssists in keeping the facility safe, organized, sanitary, and guides others to do the sameAssists clients with personal care including:
dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, food, nutrition, and diet needsAttends and participates in meetingsReports all safety concerns to the Safety Director or his/her direct supervisorMaintains client confidentiality at all timesGreets parents and clients by name and engages in respectful conversations with clients and fellow employeesEngages only in competent exchanges of information with parents.
Seeks assistance when necessary.
Uses discretion when discussing personal information with coworkers and parentsAnswers basic questions from parents or seeks answers from othersFollows supervisors directionsRespects and positively reinforces co-workersRespects Partners property and assetsMaintains a professional appearance, wearing comfortable clothing that meets or exceeds Partners dress codeMaintains a positive attitude and accepts feedback from supervisors in a respectful and constructive mannerPromotes Partners mission statement at and away from workAsks for assistance from appropriate staff when unsure what to doReports issues/concerns to the appropriate personArrives on time for all shifts and has a positive attendance recordResponds to pages in a timely mannerPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceMust be at least 18 years of ageGeneral knowledge of typical and special needs clientsAbility to lift fifty (50) poundsComputer proficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelDependable, consistent, and tactfulAbility to problem solve and make appropriate decisionsSuccessfully passed an initial and subsequent background checks (no history of felonies, substantiated client maltreatment or vulnerable adult incidents, or disqualifying misdemeanors)Must possess the interpersonal skills to be playful, enthusiastic, and bring a high level of energy into the therapeutic situationMust have demonstrated the ability to read written treatment directions, collect numeric data, and write progress notesMust have demonstrated the ability to work with a team and comply with supervisory directionMust have demonstrated a clear ability to accept corrective feedback, comply with supervisory direction, and have shown a solid history of seeking and completing required and optional training Recommended Skills Communication Confidentiality Courtesy Data Collection Ethics Interpersonal Skills Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
