Maintenance Technician

Position Objective
Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on all manufacturing and facility equipment as needed. Assist with installation and start-up of manufacturing equipment. Work closely with production personnel to resolve issues and improve productivity and quality.
Job Duties
Troubleshooting industrial equipment.
Mechanical repairs and modifications of equipment.
Execute emergency and all regular repairs to machines and equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on all machines and equipment.
Move and installation of industrial equipment.
Installation of various piping for compressed air and chilled process water.
Install and maintain all safety features as required on all machinery and equipment.
Help maintain an inventory of necessary supplies by keeping Maintenance Supervisor aware of usage and possible requirements
Keep a detailed record of all preventive maintenance, adjustments and repairs to each machine.
Maintain AIB certification and safety compliance programs and required documentation:
pest control program, checking and changing filters as needed, emergency lighting and eye wash station inspections, etc.
Assist production employees and other maintenance team members with spill clean-up
General building maintenance.
Rack building and welding.
Maintenance of corporate auto fleet.
Snow removal.
Moving office furniture.
Assist in training of Maintenance I & II employees.
May be required to work 12 hour shifts; required to work weekends as scheduled on a regular or as-needed basis.
Requirements
Requirements
Electro-Mechanical Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; with 5-7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills
Understanding of industrial equipment mechanics
Wire-feed and TIG welding.
Carpentry
Forklifting driving and scissor lift work platform use
Machining and fabrication
Pipefitting of PVC, threaded, and rolled groove pipe.
Electrical troubleshooting of industrial equipment, facility wiring and lighting fixtures
Troubleshooting of PLCs and VFDs .
Electrical Power Distribution.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets, technical procedures and manuals.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
